Australians buying new cars still face delays for their delivery due to a shortage of semiconductors and daftar sbobet terbaru a shipping backlog from the Suez Canal blockage.

The peak car industry group on Wednesday said manufacturers were still dealing with semiconductor supply and shipping delays due to the Ever Given cargo vessel that blocked the canal in Egypt in March.

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries director of innovation Peter Griffin said in spite of the delays, demand for new vehicles was strong and customers were receiving orders.

The industry recorded its sixth consecutive month of growth on the past financial year, which was wracked by COVID-19.

There were 92,347 new vehicles sold in April, an increase of 137.2 per cent on the same month last year.

Toyota was the most popular choice, followed by Mazda and Mitsubishi.
